MAJOR DHYANCHAND INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Department  of Physical Education and sports is a center facility department of Barkatullah University. Department has started teaching course of Physical Education from 1995 in the name of Hokey ke Jadugar Major Dhyanchand on his birth dated 29 August 1995 which is known as National Sports Day. The Institute is recognized by National Council of Teachers Education Western Regional Committee by the Department of Physical Education and Sports. Code No. 214006. The Institute provides quality physical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate degree (B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. ) and to provide sufficient facilities and opportunities for the players to achieve excellence in different areas of sports and games. The institute has sufficient infrastructure and facilities for coaching and preparing sports personnel. The Institute has its own building with modern equipped facilities required for physical education such as, Anatomy Laboratory and Physiology Laboratory, Sports Medicine, Health Laboratory.

 The Institute has 60 acres of land where well equipped play grounds for Hokey, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Handball, Basketball, Athletics, Boxing and large hall having all facilities for indoor games (Badminton, Table Tennis, Judo, Wrestling and Gymnastic). The institute also has Athletic track.

 The Institute runs a Gymnasium with modern equipment for exercise. The only institute in the state with Adventure sports providing Training for parasailing, kayaking, knowing, Rafting and Rock climbing wall.

 The Institute has produced national and international level players in the field of  Hockey, Cricket, Judo, Taekwando, Athletics, Wrestling, Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Handball, Good training and education at the University help in almost 100% placement for students. The Institute has qualified faculty to improve under graduate, post graduate level education and facilities for research leading to Ph.D. degree are also available.
