The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 1984. At present, the Department offers M.Sc. and Ph.D in Microbiology. The Department has well equipped laboratories. Faculty members have undertaken collaborative research with Australian, German, Japanese and U.K. Laboratories.

M.Sc. (MICROBIOLOGY)

Duration : 2 Years (4 Sem )
Eligibility: Graduate in any branch of Life science in 2nd Division

 

COURSE OUTLINE
Semester I General Bacteriology, General Virology, Mycology and Parasitology ,Biostatics, Instrumentations and Computer Application Lab course.
Semester II Microbial Biochemistry, Microbial Genetics and Molecular Biology, Microbial metabolism, Food and Industrial Microbiology, Lab Course.
Semester III Immunology and Immunodiagnosis, Environmental Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Lab Course
Semester IV Students have to go for six months at National Level research Institutes, Laboratories or Universities, after which it is evaluated on the basis of students performance and presentation.

Ph.D. MICROBIOLOGY
This Department is an approved research center for conducting Ph.D. students can apply for Ph.D. under the registered as per University Guidelines.
